Maldron Hotel, Oranmore, Galway, has opened the doors on its new restaurant Grain & Grill, a stylish and relaxed eatery perfect for a breakfast meeting, a lunch time catch up with friends, or a leisurely weekend dinner. The man at the helm is head chef Julian Bradfield, who has recently joined the team from the Maldron Hotel Sandy Road (formerly Pillo Hotel Galway).

In 1232 AD, the Anglo-Norman De Burgos came to Galway where they ruled for a period of time. They built a castle and defensive fortifications including the old city walls and a medieval hall, the Great Hall of the Red Earl, Richard De Burgo. The street we now know as Flood Street was originally named Earl Street or Sráid Tobar an Iarlaigh, and the lane beside it was known as Red Earl’s Lane or Boaher an Iarlaigh.

Early Years Inclusion day a big success
Mayo County Childcare Committee and the Mayo Early Intervention Service held a very successful seminar in Knockranny house hotel Westport last month. The seminar was entitled 'Early Years Inclusion Day' - Practical ways to include all children'.
